1980’s

  • 1980 International Airport Authority is established. Gimpo International Airport is acquired and begins operation
  • 1983 Gimhae International Airport is acquired and begins operation
  • 1984 Civil Aviation Training Center established
  • 1985 Jeju International Airport is acquired and begins operation

1990’s

  • 1990 Nine domestic airports, including Daegu International Airport, are acquired and begin operation
  • 1992 Mokpo & Gunsan Airports are acquired and begin operation
  • 1997 Cheongju International Airport & Wonju Airport are acquired and begin operation
  • 1999 ATCRBS sites are acquired and begin operation

2000’s

  • 2001 Gimpo International Airport transfers international flights to Incheon International Airport
  • 2002 Korea Airports Corporation is established
  • 2002 Yangyang International Airport is acquired and begins operation
  • 2003 Gimpo - Haneda route opens
  • 2007 Muan International Airport is acquired and begins operation
  • 2008 Business expands to manufacturing and sales of R&D equipment, and airport projects overseas

2010’s

  • 2010 Uljin Civil Aviation Training Center is acquired and begins operation
  • 2011 ICAO Certified Aviation Security Training Center is opened
  • 2014 Korea Airports Corporation Act amended to encompass greater purpose and business scope
  • 2016 Business expands to include aircraft handling and pilot training
  • 2016 Seoul Gimpo Business Aviation Center (SGBAC) begins operation
  • 2017 Vision 2025 is declared
  • 2017 KAC Aviation Training Center is opened
  • 2018 Gimpo International Airport remodeling is completed for its 60th anniversary
  • 2018 2018 passenger traffic reached 80 million nationwide
