  • Cautions in Transit

Transit means stopping at a site before reaching the destination, and it is used for tasks such as boarding/unboarding of passengers, fueling, water and meal supply, shift rotation of crew, cabin cleaning, and setting up instruments. This may take about 1 hour in general, during which passengers can wait either on board or in the terminal.
There will be more transits depending on the price of the ticket, so check the total number of transits in advance.

  • Cautions regarding transfer

A transfer literally means switching to a different flight for flying to the original destination via a large city with an international airport or flying a domestic line to a local city.It is generally reserved when you make the first flight reservation, but check-in is done at the airport where the transfer occurs.
The luggage will be checked in to the final destination.
The exception is the US where you need to pick up your luggage at the transferring airport and have it scanned for security to complete the transfer procedure.

  • Bumped situation

There are cases wherein, despite a reservation, you are unable to board the flight at the scheduled time because you are not checked in. This is entirely the airline’s responsibility, in which case the airline will find a different flight for you or shoulder any additional expenses and sometimes hotel accommodation fees.
The amount covered by the airline in this case will vary depending on the schedule and distance of the new flight, but will generally be smaller than a regular ticket price.
Therefore, we highly recommend checking in and then occupying the seat allocated to you in advance.

  • In case you lost the boarding pass

If you happen to lose the boarding pass while traveling, you can have a new one issued by going to the airline counter/agency of your ticket and providing them with the ticket number, date of issue, route, etc.
This may take some time though; thus, if you have time and money, it will be faster to purchase a new ticket and ask for a cash refund upon returning to Korea and going to the head office of the airline along with your ID and the new ticket.
Otherwise, you can use the PTA prepaid notice.
Make a request to a friend in Korea for this and go to the branch office of the airline.
Just in case, we advise writing down your ticket number, date of issue, route, and phone number of the travel agency or airline you used for reservation.

  • Lost luggage

First, go to ‘’Baggage Claim’’ where you can file a report of a lost luggage. Here, present the luggage tag along with any features of the luggage.

If you bought international travel insurance, be sure to ask for the loss certificate to the airport or airline to be awarded compensation later if the luggage is not found.
