Pohang Gyeongju Airport in Dogu-ri, Donghae-myeon, Nam-gu, Pohang-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do is approximately 11.5 km from Pohang City Hall and 5 km from POSCO in the Guryongpo direction."The days of notoriety for confined space ended when Pohang Gyeongju Airport was renovated in June 2002; it now boasts of spacious parking lots and diverse facilities.The airfield was set up in February 1970, and Korea Air launched the Pohang - Seoul route the following month.In April 1992, Asiana Airlines launched the Pohang – Seoul route, followed by the Pohang - Jeju route in October.The airport can operate about 100,000 flights a year and accommodate 3,850,000 domestic passengers, with parking lot for up to 530 vehicles. After repaving the runways in March 2016, Pohang Gyeongju Airport is evolving into a key part in regional traffic as the leader of air traffic in Gyeongsangbuk-do."
