We will welcome you with exceptional quality of service.
Gwangju International Airport was established on November 16, 1948 with the first commercial flight of DC-3 on February 10, 1949. It moved to its present location on January 10, 1964 and began expansion to start full-scale operation with the Passenger Terminal, taxiway, apron, and other facilities refurbished. Korea Airports Corporation took over operation in June 1990. The airport underwent a major renovation in 1994, and a subsequent expansion increased capacity to serve as the transportation hub in the southwestern part of the Korean peninsula. At present, Passenger Terminal can handle 140,000 flights for 2,940,000 passengers, with Cargo Terminal accommodating up to 56,000 tons of cargo. Moreover, the apron and the parking lot can accommodate 5 mid-sized planes and 945 vehicles simultaneously. Gwangju International Airport is located 5.8km west of Gwangju City Hall and is the main gateway to the Honam region. It features 2 terminals for passengers and cargo, 2 runways, 1 taxiway, and 1 parking ramp accommodating aircrafts and 945 vehicles, all of which allow for pleasant, convenient access to the airport.
