A friendly airport that you would want to visit again
We will welcome you with exceptional quality of service.
Gimpo Airport is located at 112 Haneul-gil (Gonghang-dong), Gangseo-gu, Seoul. The history of the airport started in 1939 when the Japanese army constructed a runway in Banwhwa-ri, Yangseo-myeon, Gimpo-gun, Gyeonggi-do, which was allowed to operate civil aircraft at the time when the USAir Force started to access the runway, and was later partially allowed for Koreans beginning 1954.Thereafter, it was only in 1958 when it was designated as Gimpo International Airport by a presidential decree, officially beginning to evolve into a full-fledged airport in 1971.Having firmly secured its position as the oldest among Korean Airports, Gimpo Airport is not only an airport but also currently provides customers with full enjoyment as a space of cultural complex, leisure, and shopping called “Sky City.”
