Located in Daejeo 2-dong, Gangseo-gu, Busan, Gimhae International Airport was first built as Busan Suyeong Airport in August 1958 and later upgraded to Busan International Airport in September 1963. For expansion purposes, it was renamed Gimhae International Airport and relocated to its current location in August 1976. Developing along with the local community, Gimhae International Airport is being used by 10 million passengers every year and is being expanded for convenient travel and to include facilities for handicapped passengers as well. By installing top-notch communication and electronic equipment to facilitate safe takeoff and landing, it is being operated in the best conditions possible.
